An opportunity has arisen at H Tempest Ltd to join their Grounds and Garden Team. Working on their 25 Acre estate you will be working with the team to manage and maintain the grounds using both traditional and modern gardening methods. During your apprenticeship you will work with a range of plants and develop your knowledge in gardening styles.

What you will do in your working day

Your day to day role will include but not limited to:

• Grass Maintenance
• Machinery Maintenance
• Hedge Cutting
• Planting
• Weeding
• Plant Propagation
• Cut Flower Production
• Use a range of machinary including strimmer, lawn mowers, hedge cutter
• Tractor Training

The training you will be getting

• You will be working towards a Level 2 Horticulture and Landscape Operative Apprenticeship Standard
• You will receive on and off the job training and support from an assessor and an apprenticeship advisor

You will be required to attend Duchy College Rosewarne on a one day a week basis as part of the apprenticeship training.

The following qualifications will be required prior to taking the end point assessment:

• Emergency first aid: Level 3 award in emergency first aid at work
• Pesticides: Level 2 Principles of Safe Handling and Application of
• Pesticides Guidance OR Level 2 Award in the Safe Use of Pesticides

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Following successful completion of the apprenticeship you might like to:

• Progress onto the Level 3 Horticulture and Landscape Supervisor apprenticeship
• Progress within the company

Working week

• Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm

Total hours per week: 37.5

• Expected duration

24 Months

• Possible start date
